How to become a HRDC Certified Trainer?
To become a HRDC (Human Resource Development Corporation) certified trainer in Malaysia, there are 2 options you could consider.

Option-A) The 99.9% Method
For Anyone
You just need to complete the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) certification program approved by HRDC. Here’s a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
HRDC does not impose strict academic requirements, but having relevant industry experience or teaching/ training background is beneficial.
Step 2: Register for the Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Course
- Enroll in a HRDC TTT program, which typically lasts 5 days.
- The course focuses on adult learning principles, training delivery skills, session structuring, and assessment methods… and yes, it’s that boring!
- Fees range from RM 2,700 – RM 3,500 depending on the training provider.
Find it easy?
Indeed, it sounds easy. That’s also why over 90% of the HRDC certified trainers are not making money!
Getting one to be HRDC certified doesn’t mean you’re on the way to make money from providing training but it’s all depends if you’re capable to sell your workshop.
Option-B) The 0.01% Method
Compared to Option-A (that anyone can sign up), Option-B is only open for those who meets the below criteria:
1. Minimum 5 years working experience in Malaysia
2. Able to speak/ train in either Bahasa/ English & record 2 hours training video.
3. Experience in conducting classes before*.
*T&C applied.
No-5-day-Training, But not for everyone.
While Option-B is not for everyone, you’re not require to attend any training simply because you must carry certain experience in order to take part.
Initially i was a bit sceptical as i’m new to HRDC program & only heard of the so-called ‘Option-A’.
Soon, in about 1.5 months TTC helped me to enrol and I’ve successfully receive my TTT accredited certificate without attending any training class. Now i’m able to conduct & claim HRDC grants whenever I need to.
